The UN at 80

At the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations after World War II, the organization that aspired to beat swords into plowshares appears increasingly off mission, corrupt and incapable of pursuing the dream of world peace. Thankfully, Scripture promises that world peace will ultimately come through the return of Jesus Christ to establish the Kingdom of God over all nations, as previewed in the biblical fall festivals. That government will be very different from what we see today. Those answering God’s call in this age experience a foretaste of that reign. And remarkably, the opportunity to accept the rule of God through Christ to enjoy peace in Their family forever will eventually be offered to all who have ever lived. That is the wonderful hope we eagerly await as we live in line with it now.
